The Bluetooth Air Actions feature is no longer present on the Galaxy S25 Ultra's S Pen, which is a kind of regression. Air Actions was a feature that allowed users of Ultra phones to perform various tasks such as opening apps, controlling music, browsing photos, or pressing the camera's shutter button to take a photo or video by moving the pen instead of touching the screen.
Remove Bluetooth from Galaxy S25 Ultra Pen
Samsung says that only less than 1% of users who had the S Pen used the Air Actions feature. Most users used this feature to take photos, which is easy to do without using the S Pen. For the very small number of users who may be unhappy with this change, Samsung claims that removing this feature and Bluetooth LE will increase the durability of the pen and reduce its weight.
Removing Bluetooth from the Galaxy S25 Ultra Pen is not useless. This Bluetooth-free stylus no longer requires a battery, so you don't have to worry about charging the S Pen. The lack of batteries and other Bluetooth-related components has also made the stylus lighter, which has also helped reduce the overall weight of the Galaxy S25 Ultra, making it 15 grams lighter than the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
The S Pen has other features, and you can use it to draw, take notes, use the Circle to Search feature, and open the Air Command menu, which includes customizable shortcuts.
